A Trip of a Life Time!

I’ve been to almost half of the States. I’ve never been to the East, except Florida, and the states we had to drive through to get there (yes, I count those since I was able to stop and see the sites). So, in June, we’re taking our vacation to California and Vegas! Although I’ve been to both places (a couple of times each), I have never been so thrilled in my life to actually go in June! You see, Jeff and I never got to take a vacation with just the two of us. Unless you want to count the time we took a trip spontaneously to Kansas City one weekend.  So, when we go, it’s going to be sans kiddos! That’s right! Jeff’s parents are so graciously going to watch our little ones while we get to go and have the time of our lives…for the First. Time. Ever!!! Not that we’re not having the time of our lives as a family now, but it will be just the two of us and we get to know each other all over again! I’m thrilled!

As I’ve been excitedly thinking about this trip, I realized I need a whole new wardrobe. But, I don’t want to spend to much money, so what better way than to make and/or refashion. Over the next couple of months, I’ll show you my inspiration and final products. Today, we’ll start with dresses.

This first dress is so cute. Can’t you see me wearing this at one of the casinos in Vegas? (Not that I gamble, I’ll literally sit at a penny or nickel machine all night with $5.) I found this pattern at Your Style Rocks.

This second dress I found at Burda Style and it was made by member Squidinc-1. This is the cutest refashion ever and I see myself shopping in California in the Fabric District wearing something like this. Although there isn’t a tutorial, I’ll be using it as inspiration to do my own refashion. The great thing is, I’ll be able to use one of Jeff’s shirts, so it shouldn’t cost me a thing!

What do you think? They’re so me, aren’t they? I can’t wait to get started. Once I get done, I’ll be sure to show you the final products!
